Hose Genie Makes All The Difference

Hose Genie is the first patented, push-button hose management system on the market today.  Like magic, the hose dispenses and disappears inside the wall. 

Floor tools and an electric brush can be added to the system and are priced separately.

Each Hose Genie station contains a separate hose that reaches up to 1500 sq. ft. Several can be positioned throughout the home depending on size and floor plan.  Example: a 3800 sq. ft. two story home may require 2 stations down and 1 station up.

It features button controls on a swivel handle for all functions on a 45 foot hose with an inside hose diameter of 1.44 inches for maximum air flow. 

The Hose Genie has a torque limiter: This control limits the power to the motorized retractor to avoid damage to the hose should it get hung up in either exiting the storage cavity or retracting back into the wall.

The Hose Genie has a reset button in the event the floor brush becomes clogged and the unit stops, and a fuse if the retractor ceases working. These are easily accessible on the top of the circuit board cover behind the retractor unit.

The unit is designed normally for new construction, remodeling or updating your present central vac system for easy Hose Management.

The Retractor Cabinet

The Retractor Cabinet is 30" long x 12" high x 3.5" deep with a 14.5" x 10.5" opening for the hose handle, and is designed to be installed between the studs on 32" centers at approximately 48" above the floor.

Hose storage cavity liner

The hose cavity liner is thin plastic sheet material that lines the cavity where the hose is stored. The cavity liner provides a clean storage container and protection for the hose.

The Retractor

The Retractor is designed to easily snap apart so the hose can be placed into contact with the drive mechanism. Once the hose is in place, the Retractor snaps back together so it can be positioned properly in the Retractor Cabinet.

A 120VAC "power-in" operates the retractor, a 120VAC "power-out" operates the electric floor brush and a "low-voltage" control for the vacuum system source are all located for easy plug-in to the retractor.

The Hose

The 45' vacuum hose includes a fitting (provided) for connecting to the vacuum source line. This fitting is glued directly to the 2" P.V.C. vacuum line entering the Hose Retractor Cabinet from the Vac Magic or an existing central vacuum. Once the hose end is snapped into place on the fitting, the hose is loaded into the lined storage area (cavity liner) and then installed into the Retractor.

With hose installed, the Retractor is inserted in the front opening of the Retractor Cabinet, all plug-ins made and slid to the right and snapped in place.

After drywall installation and painting are complete, the front cover door may be installed with the door opening to the right. A rubber snout cover is to be used on the handle snout where multiple HOSE GENIES are connected to the same vacuum source so there will be a vacuum at the next station.
