| I have your Home Cleaning Center installed and nothing works. | Be sure that the house circuit breaker is on and there is 120 V AC present at the outlet that the unit is plugged into. In the top compartment of the unit there is an on/off switch, be sure it is in the on position. The unit is controlled from the buttons on the handle. | |
| The vacuum works, but the floor brush does not. | Check the connection where the floor brush plugs into the handle. In the top compartment of the unit under the on/off switch is a push button reset for the floor brush. If the motor is running but the brush roller does not turn, you will need to replace the drive belt. There is an extra belt provided. | |
| The suction is not as good as it should be. | Check the bag; it may need to be changed. Fine particles like drywall dust or baby powder will stop a bag up before it is full. If a new bag does not solve the problem, the hose may have a clog. | |
| The hose is stopped up. How do I get it unstopped? | Turn the vacuum on and place your hand over the suction end of the handle and move in rapid succession making the hose expand and contract. This should squeeze the clog and allow it to pass through the hose. This should open the clog, if not you will have to get an electricians snake to run through the hose. | |
| The vacuum motor stops after vacuuming a few minutes, but the retractor still works. | The vacuum motor has a safety feature that will shut it down before it gets too hot. The only thing that should cause it to get too hot is a full bag or if the hose has a clog. Also the unit has a safety feature that will cut the unit off after 30 minutes if you do not touch any buttons. | |
| The unit will not retract all of the hose back into the cabinet. | The hose has to be waxed two or three times a year depending on the amount it is used. To do this you must run all of the hose out on newspaper or a box and spray the hose down with pledge furniture polish. Be sure that you use only pledge brand. | |
| The retractor will run a second or two and stop repeatedly. | Press the vacuum button on the handle and hold it in for about ten seconds until the vacuum motor cuts off. This will reset the computer chip and it should work fine. | |
